Mountain Biking Friendly Hotels in Llanrwst

North Wales is a great place for mountain biking for all skill levels, and we’re huge fans of the area. From trails such as the Coed Moel Farnau to trails of average difficulty such as the Gwydir Forest Trail to absolute monsters such as the Two Lake Tour, the region has lots of trails and adventures for you to explore. It’s a great place to be for mountain bikers of all levels and all skills, but what about mountain biking friendly hotels in Conwy?

No-one likes to feel a little downfaced at hotel owners that are more concerned about the state of their carpets than their guests—much less stay up all night worried that their bikes and equipment are safe. There’s Glamping… but when it comes to your kit, your stuff, and your bike, Glamping feels sometimes like there’s not enough room for all of that stuff, let alone you. Glamping is cramped, narrow, and sometimes it feels like your car is a better experience overall.

So where to turn? Fortunately, there’s a few excellent hotels in the Conwy area which are mountain biker friendly, such as the Meadowsweet Hotel in Llanrwst. It doesn’t get much better – the Meadowsweet Hotel boasts excellent staff out and out, a variety of fantastic spacious rooms, and good, old fashioned service.

The Meadowsweet hotel is ideally located as well, less than 5 minutes walk from both of Llanrwst’s rail stations and in a central area where you can enjoy all of the trails North Wales has to offer. For those of you coming by car, free parking is featured as standard. Llanrwst isn’t in the sticks either – for a small, pretty Welsh village, there's so much to do. When you're sick of trails, the towns of Betws y Coed, Conwy, and Llandudno are very close. Even better, the hotel has free wi-fi so you can share your adventures with the internet at large as soon as you get back.

A trip to North Wales, in our opinion, is best spent enjoying the natural beauty of this region on your bike. There’s no reason why your experience has to be ruined by a few hotel owners with an aversion to outdoor activity, because they're the minority of hotel owners out there.

Try Out Antur ’Stiniog Downhill MTB Trail Centre!

We’re huge fans of mountain biking. Whether we’re looking up the hottest trails of the year for our readership, riding said trails, or even checking out some seriously mountain biker friendly hotels in Snowdonia and the surrounding regions, it’s safe to say we’re more than hooked. But you knew that, didn’t you?

Our best pick of 2016 has to be the Antur ‘Stiniog Downhill and MTB Trail Centre at the Llechwedd Slate Caverns! This fantastic facility boasts 5, yes 5, mountain bike trails that range from a moderately light Blue grade to absolute monsters of Black Grade trails. (Obligatory warning: Don’t attempt any trails you’re unfamiliar with, or worried about. Black Grade Trails are no joke, and nor is Snowdonia. All it takes is a bit of misplaced confidence to turn a great experience into something horrific).

All of Antur ‘Stiniog’s five trails have enjoyed international acclaim from MTB Riders and press alike – hence earning this prestigious name, standing head and shoulders above among many mountain biking trails in England and Wales. (And in our opinion, even some European ones.)  All trails are assessed by an uplift service, which means that riders get more time having fun than lugging their bikes to the top of what can sometimes seem unsurmountable.

Antur ‘Stiniog’s uplift service in particular is an example to the rest of the UK at large. Uplifts are timely, regular, and efficient – widely regarded as the absolute best within the UK. Also available onsite is bike hire, coaching and maintenance (in case you’re a little unsure what kind of trail you’re cut out for at present) a jump site, cafĂ©, showers and even a bike wash.

The Antur ‘Stiniog Downhill MTB Trail Centre is indeed the whole package, all in one, and it’s more than possible thanks to the site’s excellent design and very rider-centric layout to complete all 5 trails in one day, if you want to.
